CRITIQUE PANEL
The Critique Panel is a permanent space of reflection and interdisciplinary research, organic to ALTO FEST, connecting different perspectives and heterogeneous competencies in order to give a plural and multi-perspective look on the festival, on the aesthetic processes, and on the participatory dynamics and organizational strategies that ALTO FEST activates.
It was created in 2012, during the second edition of the festival, with the main task of assigning for the next edition the “Operappartamento” residency to one of the artists in the program.
During ALTO FEST 2013 the structure of the Critique Panel changed, inaugurating a speculative and creative activity, organic to the program of the festival, and involving some of its members continuously since then.
This year the Critique Panel will be identified with the OCr label (acronym of Osservatorio Critico, in Italian) like Optical Character Recognition system, to highlight the function of monitoring and observation of the live arts in relation to the festival. Its activities rely on the observations of critics, operators, artists, researchers and curators. Several interventions by the OCr offer the artists and audience of the festival tools and participatory paths into arts.
